Cost and Savings

How much does a solar system cost?

The cost of a system will vary depending on a lot of variables from roof mounted system or ground mounted, string inverters or micro inverters, panels and most of all workmanship. For an exact price for your system please call for a no obligation free energy assessment.

The longer you wait to go solar the more you'll pay in  energy costs. Going solar today you will be able to lock in your energy costs, increase your home's value and if you qualify you can take advantage of the 30% Federal Tax credit.

Paying cash or choosing one our many financing options will lock in your monthly energy costs. Over the past 10 years the average utility company has raised its cost 4.1% per year. The average home in Colorado pays $150 per month in energy costs today.  That translates into at $394 monthly payment at year 25. Choosing solar today you wont be impacted by the rising cost of energy, you'll be able to lock in the cost of your energy consumption now.

Can your electric bill be $0.00?

Our goal is to get everyone to a true net zero, which means you wont pay anything to your electric company on a monthly basis. However there is still a minimal connection fee to keep you connected to the electrical grid (typically less than $10 per month, depending on where you live and energy company.)

What happens with the extra energy I produce?

If your solar system produces more than your annual usage you have two options. You can roll over the excess energy into future months or years. In some cases you can cash out your excess energy on a yearly basis.  A grid tied system uses what's called net metering. While your system is generating power from the sun your meter is running backwards, at night or any other time your system isn't creating energy your meter is rolling forward. At Peace of Mind Solar we customize a system where those time periods offset each other and should you have excess power you can make your choice on how you want to utilize it (roll over or cash out).

What if I move?

People are coming and going more frequently, this should not impact your decision on going solar. A solar system can save you money day 1 and the increased home value you'll receive from going solar will make your home more appealing to buyers should you sell. Even if you move before your solar system is paid off, studies show the cost will likely be returned in added value to your home. You home is likely to sell faster with solar, as perspective buyers see added value of a guaranteed lower electric bill.

Our lifetime warranty stays with the home no matter how many times the property changes ownership.
